New Release: Partner – “In Search Of Lost Time”

You’ve Changed Records is proud to announce the September 8th, 2017 release of the long-awaited debut album from Partner – In Search Of Lost Time.

Already well-celebrated for their enthusiastic and action-packed live shows (The Globe and Mail declared them “the best new band in Canada” after one of their first shows) and early singles (Hot Knives, The “Ellen” Page, Personal Weekend) In Search Of Lost Time takes things to a whole new level (not just standing on a small wooden step and ripping out a totally excellent guitar solo).

Recorded by Josh Korody and mixed by Chris Shaw (Ween, Weezer, Bob Dylan, Public Enemy, Wilco), In Search Of Lost Time is heavy as a crush, nimble as a thimble, smart as a doctorate, stupid as edible underwear; 12 songs that shudder with wit, melody and the peerless confederation of Josée Caron and Lucy Niles. None of their influences – not Weezer, Ween, Dinosaur Jr or any of the lesbian superfecta (k.d. lang, Melissa Etheridge, Tegan, Sara) – marry Partner’s craft for singles and their willingness to laugh at themselves – at least not with the same smiling candour. In Search Of Lost Time proves that it’s always more freeing, and probably more fun, to be the butt of the joke.
